Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter Vs. Arc-Fault Circuit Breaker
A ground fault circuit interrupter detects current flow between two or more conductors on different circuits by monitoring voltage differences across them. It then interrupts power if it senses any difference in potential between those wires.
In contrast, arc-fault circuit breakers detect arcing within wiring systems and interrupt power when they sense this type of dangerous condition. These devices are typically installed near outlets where people may be exposed to electricity.
